Quality Assurance Program
IDEAMATICS’ Quality Assurance Program ensures performance meets or exceeds customer
requirements.
The goals of IDEAMATICS’s Quality Assurance Program are:
- plan, assign and monitor quality assurance functions;
- ensure processes and products adhere to customer standards and methods;
- inform project teams and customer management of the activities and results;
- inform senior management emphasizing products and activities that do not meet quality
standards;
- specify and document the QA policy that guides the QA function(s); and
- the PM will provide metrics based on QA activities.
The major processes described in the following subsections are included in IDEAMATICS’s
approach to Quality Management:
- Quality Planning
- Quality Control
Each quality process and activity may involve one or more individuals or groups
based on the needs of the project.
Quality Planning
Quality planning identifies the standards, service level agreements and quality
activities which will apply to the project or task, and determines how to incorporate
these into the Project Plan, how to measure and track them and how to achieve/satisfy
them. Quality planning will be performed in parallel with other project planning
processes and incorporated into the overall project plan.
Technical issues and risks are analyzed to judge their potential effects on quality
management. Other considerations that may have an affect on quality planning are
standards, regulations, and customer policies.
Quality Control
IDEAMATICS’s quality control practices measure and monitor specific project results
to determine if they comply with project specifications and quality standards.
The results of quality measurements are reviewed regularly to gauge the quality
of the work products and the overall project efficiency. IDEAMATICS’s Quality Assessment
techniques range from peer reviews to independent audits and include structured
walkthroughs, in-stage assessments, thorough testing of work products and strict
implementation of configuration management procedures and risk monitoring and assessment
at all levels of management and stages of development. Variances are analyzed and
appropriate action taken. Trend analyses are conducted to monitor technical performance,
cost and schedule performance to predict project outcomes.
The project management team will have a working knowledge of IDEAMATICS’s quality
control processes to facilitate the evaluation of quality control outputs. When
quality standards are not met, corrective actions are identified and implemented.
